THE PROBLEM WITH WEEKEND ILLNESS
NHS GP surgeries are typically closed on weekends and bank holidays. If you fall ill on a Friday evening and your absence runs into the following week, you might find yourself waiting until Monday — or longer — to even contact your GP.
By that point, you've potentially lost income, your employer is asking questions, and you still don't have the documentation you need.

Our online consultation service runs every day of the week, including weekends and bank holidays. Submit your consultation at any time and our GMC-registered doctors will review it during our operating hours (8am to 10pm).
Same-day service means your fit note arrives the same day you submit your consultation — not the next working day.

● Illness that starts on Thursday or Friday and runs into the following week
● Injuries from weekend sports or activities
● Mental health crises over the weekend
● Workplace accidents on Saturday or Sunday shifts
● Worsening of an existing condition over the weekend
ALL NOTES ARE EQUALLY VALID
A fit note issued on a Saturday or Sunday bank holiday has exactly the same legal standing as one issued on a Tuesday morning. The day of issue has no bearing on validity.
HOW QUICKLY WILL I RECEIVE MY NOTE?
Most consultations are reviewed and fit notes issued within 2 hours during operating hours. If you submit in the evening, your note will typically be issued by 10pm or the following morning.
